The 1st April 2007 Compliance Deadline has come and
gone! Is your organisation ready?
The National Credit Act Legislation, implemented in 2007,
impacts heavily on all Credit-Granting businesses and specifically
affects the manner in which credit is extended, administered,
reported on and controlled in SA. Since inception, rulings and
precedents are focusing the way in which the law interprets this
Act.
This workshop will review how the Act is currently being
enforced and will allow you to review your company's current
alignment to the Act while providing information necessary to fully
comply with this Act in 2012!
Your ½ day Workshop Agenda will include
topics such as:
- Understanding Credit Providers as defined by the National
Credit Act abd the responsibilities you have as a Credit
Provider
- Looking at the objectives of the National Credit Act and what
the Act is trying to achieve
- Specific areas of concern for Credit Providers such as defined
Reckless Lending, Interest Rate Regulation, Confidentiality Issues,
Unlawful Agreements and Debt Counselling
- Ensuring that your company is complying with the Act in terms
of communication, contravention, policies and rectification
- Looking at the cost implications of complying with the National
Credit Act for your company
- Understanding the penalties provided for in the Act, and how
the National Credit Regulator aims to enforece its objectives
- Looking at the set up Regulatory Bodies, their Functions and
the likely impact they will have on an organisation extending
credit
- A specific focus on the Business Rescue Chapter of the New
Companies Act and it's impact on your debtors legal standing
